Works Exactly As Intended,and Saves Money If You Actually Know how to Do the Math
I’m honestly surprised at some of the negative reviews here. This filter lasts six months, gives clean water, installs in seconds, and costs about $45. I bought the 2-pack for $90, which covers an entire year.If someone is drinking 4–5 gallons of bottled water a week, they’ll spend far more than $90 in six months. The math isn’t complicated: this filter ends up being cheaper, easier, and produces zero plastic waste.Yes, GE requires their brand because of the RFID chip. It would be nice to have universal options, but even with that limitation, the cost per month comes out to around $7.50. That’s less than a single gallon of brand-name bottled water in many stores.If you want clean water, convenience, and consistency, this filter does the job. Complaining about the price while spending more on bottled water doesn’t make much sense

The filter is working great!
I thought my ice maker was broken but I decided to replace my filter first. Good news I needed a filter. This filter is working great and I have an abundance of ice now. The water quality is excellent. I had no trouble installing it. It’s not the cheapest but it works!

Defective Filter?
I was never able to use it because the red light remains on on the fridge, and no water comes out. I ordered directly from GE, the filter looked exactly the same, and as soon as I installed it, the red signal light on the fridge turned white. Water started coming out, and I followed the directions until the water became nice and clear.On hindsight, I suspect the one I bought from Amazon was defective. I still have it on a shelf in my pantry.

Decent but expensive
Overall, I like this filter. However, my biggest issue is the price, for something that needs to be replaced every 6 months, it feels a bit expensive. Also, I noticed the flow rate seems slightly slower after installation. It doesn’t click into its slot in my fridge as easily as other ones; it needs a little nudge, but it works well.

Good filter
This is a good refrigerator filter and the well water I drink is odor and sediment free. It is an easy install and takes only moment. (I also use a primary filter on the waterline before the refrigerator. ) My only complaint is that it expires too soon. That cost is not a deal breaker, but it is noticeable.
