I love this tool!!!
This is a huge help in my yard & my Dad’s yard when trimming overgrown bushes. I had been using a manual pruner and my 65 year-old ands would really ache after hours of trimming trees, cutting down neighbors weeds that seeped into my fence. I also trim up a berm from 2 neighbors properties that gets unsightly and wild. I can be back there for 45 minutes cutting. FOR SAFETY, ALWAYS CURL YOUR FINGERS IN WHILE HOLDING BRANCHES YOU ARE TRIMMING. This thing is a powerful workhorse that cuts with ease. The LED light is helpful while working at dusk

Fantastic cutting tool
This tool works best with the large Dewalt battery. I had to cut hundreds of small surface roots from an oak tree. In the past I tried to do the job with hand a cutter. After my hand became sore I bought the Dewalt pruning shear. It WORKED GREAT. You get about 100 full power cuts then you will need a recharge. 20 minutes later I was back at work. This cutter is fantastic able to cut roots an inch in diameter. Be sure to blow off any soil on the cutting parts then oil them. I would purchase this tool again. Thank you for a quality product.

Maybe my favorite tool of all time…
…if only for the amount of repetitive wrist-hand movements it spares me. And I have lots of tools, including a fair number of Dewalts (wired and cordless, none of which have ever failed). But this thing — like my wrists and hands are almost 80 years old (each!) and they often feel twice that, so I can use manual shears for only so long, and then I suffer for a couple of days and have to take naproxen. And that prospect keeps me from pruning at all. This tool can get a little weighty, but nothing like the effect of the repetitive action of the manual shears. It slices through 1-1/2-inch (and more) branches with ease, even hard and dry ones and branches with bunches of leaves. This pruner helps me get my `okole out into the yard.Whatever I prune I cut into little pieces so I can get more in the yard waste bin, and THAT involves hundreds and hundreds of cuts, which with the manual shears was just feeding the arthritis. Then came this cordless pruner — like where have you been all my pruning life? I cut the branches right into the bin or my Gorilla dump wagon. I grab the branch and as many of its offshoot branches as possible in one hand so they’re all bunched up, then starting cutting from the thick end and work my way toward the leaf tips — that way I can slice through multiple slender branches at once. And I can also rest the pruner against the top edge of the bin or the wagon to take the weight off my hand while it cuts. (I should vid this.)Cutting into the bin means I have to stand, and my back is as old as my hands, which is why I like the wagon — I sit in a chair and cut the branches into bits right into the wagon, which can tip backwards like a dumptruck right into a 35-gallon plastic bag that I wrap around the end, and then I dump the bag into the bin. (The Gorilla wagon is available on Amazon, though I got mine at the Big Orange store — kind of pricey, but very well made with fat tires.)I don’t see how it could be easier except for hiring somebody to do it for me (and that day is bearing down on me). I have two 20v Dewalt batteries for my woodshop tools and I just use those. One battery gets me through a LOT of cuts, and by the time it quits I’m usually ready to quit, too. You can get longer-lasting batteries (higher amps), but they get heavier with their longer life (hmmm…kind of like people), so I’m fine with the basic 1.5 amps and swapping them out.A GREAT tool.

This thing is a beast
Always have a lot of pruning throughout the summer months and I really gave this thing a workout. I use 5ah batteries and I was able to use this constantly for over 2.5 hours without running out of battery. I cut through branches up to at least an inch thick with no problem. Really saved my hands from cramping.

This is absolutely the best piece of yard work equipment we have purchased. After years of manual hand shears there comes a time you must save your wrists and this is what you need. Just be careful where you place your finger on your other hand because this thing is strong.

Anyone who has ever done a lot of pruning with a hand a hand shearer or loper will have a hard time using them again after trying this Dewalt power pruner. It definitely is not a toy though. But worth every penny.

Working Limits
The reviews talk about cutting two inch branches. The manuel says to only cut one and a quarter inch branches. Believe the manual over everyone else.

Great for hunting land trimming
My use case is for hunting land that we needed to do some significant trimming to. Cutting power is excellent with quarter sized and can handle 50 cent piece sized branches if you don’t mind making a few v cuts. Also can be used delicately to open plastic boxes or those pesky zip ties on items. We are reusing older dewalt batteries we had laying around that work extremely well for long days out in the field. Weighs light enough to be handled by one hand for most of the day. The design seems quite sturdy and seems to be a great value. Would recommend to others that want efficient cuts.

I have acres of Broom ( an invasive species in the Pacific Northwest). I was a little undecided about a purchase of this loper when I first saw this item on Amazon. But, after wearing out my shoulders using large two-handled lopers on the Broom, I decided to try the De Walt hand loper.It arrived in typical Amazon hypersonic time. The battery and charger have to be purchased separately – remember that.The blade is sharp, the unit is not very heavy for one-handed use and has a unique safety trigger is built into the handle. It only took an hour to charge, and I went to the Broom field. The blades are removable with a supplied integral Allen key for replacement.I could cut 1.5″ Broom stalks with ease and with two or three cuts, 2″ thick ones. The blade is quick and cuts the Broom everything- Broom, Blackberry, thistle, misc bushes- with almost no effort. The gearing isincredible. I spent at least 1.5 hours cutting and still had the power to cut, which amazed me.It is easy to handle, designed and built to keep fingers away from the blades, not unduly heavy and performs as described.A great addition for any gardener or landscaper!

Although I haven’t used as yet from the feel of the product has a good weight to it and appears to be a solid construction. Looks wise it is the business. I have some other similar product but doesn’t have the same weight, rigidity to it. So, I believe the DWALT will be a strong performer.

Really good quality product. Saw this one various YouTube videos by property maintenance guys and decided to buy one. This seems very well built and feels like a tool that will last forever. Dewalt sells replacement cutting blades as well to extend the life of the tool.Great for pruning and then chopping branches into very small lengths to fit into green bin. Makes hundreds of cuts on an old 1ah battery. Never saw a branch that fit inside the jaws that it couldn’t cut.Used to do this with long handled lopers and it took a really long time.Great product.
