Frozen fruit doesn’t kill this blender
This is everything i hoped it would be; I’m so glad I finally decided to invest in it!Given the price, I highly recommend checking the Vitamix site and consumer reviews. They have several options, and it’s worthwhile to make sure that the one you buy has everything you want without complications that won’t be relevant to you.I’ve gone through a few blenders, and in my experience there’s little difference between the cheap (<$50) and moderately expensive ($100-150) options when it comes to motor endurance. We have an easier time getting enough nutrition when we're able to make smoothies regularly, and this makes light work of frozen fruit. (So we don't have to choose between thawing it out and having a functional blender at the end of the week.)As someone who struggles to stay on top of dishes, I love that all I have to do here is rinse, blend soapy water, rinse, set aside to dry (or immediately use it again, as the case may be). This is slightly off-topic, but it's a great example of the "boots theory" of socioeconomic unfairness (as coined by Terry Pratchett). Someone who can only afford a cheap blender will end up paying to replace it over and over, thereby spending more money than someone who can buy a high-end blender right away, *and* they'll still be using a worse blender when theirs is new. That's a whole other thing, and I'm grateful to have reached a point where I was able to save up for this without too much stress. I do highly recommend saving up if you can, but I get that it isn't always possible. They sometimes have discounts on refurbished models through the manufacturer's site, so it's worth keeping an eye out there, too.

    An investment finally realized.
I’ve always wanted a Vitamix blender, and I’ve seen them around, and I knew about the sterling reputation. They’re expensive, and they’re actually worth every penny.I finally took the dive, and while I honestly can’t review the appliance for its longevity or durability (since I just bought it), I’m quite confident it’s the last blender I’ll ever own. It’s because Vitamix blenders are built the way American products were once built, commonly. It’s overengineered. It’s stronger and more powerful and more substantial than it has to be.This is why these blenders are so renowned. Here is one of the very few household products you can buy that has no planned obsolescence built into it.And that’s actually sad, but I’m very happy I was finally able to buy this marvelous machine.I’ve made just one smoothie using it, and of course it’s quite noisy while operating, but that doesn’t bother me– if a machine is powerful and has moving parts, it’s going to make noise.I think this Vitamix blender could chop up a small car if I wanted to do it.Ha ha!The discount here on Amazon was substantial, and I’m grateful for that.Do yourself a favor and get one of these, and relax as you use it.It’s not going to fail.

    Worth the investment!
The Vitamix 5200 is hands-down the best blender I’ve ever owned. It’s super powerful — it blends everything to the perfect smooth consistency, whether it’s smoothies, soups, or frozen shakes. I’ve even made hot soup right in the blender, and it comes out creamy and steaming in minutes! It’s really easy to use with just a few simple controls, and cleanup is a breeze — just a little soap and warm water, and it cleans itself. It’s a bit of an investment, but the quality is outstanding and you can tell it’s built to last. I have been using mine since 2021 without any issues. If you’re serious about cooking or just want perfect smoothies every time, this is 100% worth it. Total game changer!

    DO NOT BUY THIS BLENDER!
DO NOT BUY THIS BLENDER!!! The motor times out even if all the “directions” to avoid motor shut down are followed precisely. I owned a Vitamix blender 30 years ago and that machine was a beast – it would blend anything and everything – everyone in my family, including our three teenagers used that machine – it lasted 10-15 years without any issues. This machine is obviously not the same quality. The instruction manual is a dead giveaway away as it has pages of information on just how to precisely load the blender to avoid triggering the overheat mechanism. Once triggered this blender is “dead in the water” for an inordinate length of time. What is ironic/sad/funny is that each time this blender’s thermal protection mechanism shut the motor down I finished blending my smoothies with a $49 Kitchenaid hand held immersion blender – it had no problem finishing the smoothie while the nearly $500 Vitamix served as nothing more than a “paper weight on the kitchen counter. It is analogous to buying a Ferrari and then reading in the instruction manual that if you drive over 30 MPH the motor will shut down 🙁. So avoid this machine if you plan to mix anything more viscous then a tablespoon of chocolate syrup in a quart of whole milk. Only saving grace is that Amazon was gracious enough to allow me to return this overpriced pathetically poor blender. Thank you Amazon!!!

I purchased this blender primarily to make tomato sauce from our garden tomatoes in the summer, but I like it so much that I find myself using it frequently to make fruit smoothies as well, which are wonderfully frothy and done in less than a minute. It has a powerful motor which is extremely effective. The blender is easy to clean. It doesn’t fit under my counter but that’s okay; I store it there anyway, with the jar beside the base; it looks just fine there. I’m glad I chose this style because I feel that the tall slender jar is more efficient at blending.

Lemon Scent who sold this blender are a fantastic company, I was initially disappointed that this blender came with an American plug and chose to return it. But Lemon Scent bent over backwards to meet my needs, they will supply an adapter to use in a UK kitchen.I purchased a Vitamix blender many years ago and fell in love with this versatile machine. Easy to use and clean. Worth the investment for sure.Thank you Lemon Scent.

I am not – WAS not – much of a “blender guy”, but the Vitamix 5200 changed that. And even though I am typing this all out in a product review, where that sort of sentiment belongs, it still sounds absurd to me. Who gets impressed by a *blender*? Me, apparently.Prior to this Vitamix the only blender I had ever used in my *entire life* was an ancient Osterizer from the 70s. The thing is literally older than I am, but beyond all reasonable expectations it still somehow works. Go Osterizer, I guess? This year I grew way too many hot peppers, decided to make a bunch of hot sauce with them, and suddenly the Osterizer showed its age. While it was fine blending a couple of smoothies a month for us, it struggled to blend up 12 litres of hot sauce in one night, so I figured maybe the time had come to get a “real” (I.E. manufactured in this century) blender. After some internet research I selected the Vitamix 5200 as being the most likely not to struggle through my new hot sauce hobby, only to find that I was basically swatting a fly with a nuke. That old Osterizer took about 2 hours of blending and cooling down to do 12 litres of my (admittedly very thick) hot sauce puree. The Vitamix 5200 did all 12 litres in less than 2 minutes. The Vitamix 5200 is *absurd*. And that has made it life-changing for us.It doesn’t matter what you put in there. You can just shove the most fibrous of vegetables in there, right up to the brim, and *bvvvvvt*, instantly pureed. Shove a bunch of ice in there…instant slushy. Anything that is a solid that you no longer want to be a solid anymore this blender will handle. So we went from a household that might make a couple of smoothies every month to one that is now bulk-making sauces, soups, and so forth. We even just toss hole grains of various types (wheat, oatmeal, rye, flax, etc.) and turn them into our own multi-grain flower, then into pre-mixed dry bread ingredients. When we are “low spoons” – I.E. we just don’t have the jam to cook properly – we can just pull out some of our pre-made sauce from the freezer, drop it on some noodles, et voila: actual food groups get consumed. As an ADHD household we have been familiar with the concept of “a critical threshold of ease of use” for some time, but we never expected to find that in a *blender*. Somehow, however, the thing is both just easy enough to use and powerful enough to handle whatever we throw at it with zero prep work that has managed to make the “pre-cooking your nutritious meals” parts of adulting just easy enough that we can actually do them on a regular basis. If you’re looking for a top-of-the-line blender for your home, you’d be hard-pressed to find anything that would top it, I think. All those rave reviews on the internet were, for once, actually not lying.
