Monster Bluetooth Speaker Review: A Bass-Heavy Beast for Outdoor Adventures
I’ve been lugging this Monster Bluetooth Speaker around for my weekend hikes and beach days, and it’s quickly become my go-to for portable audio. At first glance, it’s a sleek, rugged cube in eye-catching blue—compact enough to toss in a backpack (about the size of a large water bottle) but built like it could survive a drop from a cliff. The IPX8 waterproof rating is no joke; I accidentally submerged it in a stream during a rainstorm, and it powered through without skipping a beat. Submerging up to 1.5 meters? Check. It’s like the speaker equivalent of a tank.Sound-wise, the 60W output delivers punchy, room-filling bass that rattles your chest—perfect for thumping hip-hop or electronic tracks outdoors. Mids and highs are crisp enough for podcasts or acoustic tunes, though it’s not an audiophile’s dream; the emphasis is on fun, party vibes rather than studio precision. Pairing two units for True Wireless Stereo mode is seamless via Bluetooth 5.4—zero lag, and the connection holds strong up to 100 feet away, even through trees or crowds. The built-in mic shines for hands-free calls; voice comes through clear, and the noise cancellation keeps wind and chatter at bay.Battery life? It claims 20 hours, and I got a solid 18 on high volume during a full day of tailgating—recharges via USB-C in about 3 hours. Controls are intuitive with physical buttons for volume, play/pause, and pairing, plus an LED indicator that’s not obnoxiously bright.A couple of nitpicks: It’s on the heavier side at around 3 pounds, so not ideal for ultra-light ultralight camping. And while the bass is monstrous (pun intended), it can distort slightly at max volume on complex tracks—dial it back to 80% for perfection.Overall, if you’re after a durable, waterproof warrior that turns any outdoor spot into a concert, this Monster speaker roars. Worth every penny for the price—grab it if you hate flimsy portables that die on you mid-jam. Highly recommended for adventurers and party starters alike!

Vs. JBL flip 7
The review probably alot of people want to see. JBL flip 7 vs. Monster s620. My honest opinion. You can’t go wrong with either btw. Both are great. So here is the thing. I did tweak the equalizer on the JBL. If Monster had an equalizer app or something. Id say it beats the JBL on all front. But i cannot find any app source. Even though I gave a 5 star rating which Monster rightfully deserves for the s620 im going to keep the JBL and return the Monster for personal preference. If you are on a budget you cant go wrong with getting the monster. Honestly a steal if you ask me at the current price of $60ishReason why im keeping the JBL flip 7 instead. The size is much more portable and deeper bass on low-mid volume because i can tweak the equalizer. Monster is much more louder, but the bass on low-mid volume weaker than the JBL even with that bass boost button. High volume monster definitely wins btw because then the bass sounds great…but im not going to be blasting at high volume all the time and that is the only reason im keeping the JBL. Size and better base on low volume. JBL can get loud too, but monster is definitely louder at the higher volume.I did post a size comparison. Not going to do a sound test as it is subjective to misrepresented stuff like the recording.

Great Sound!
I have owned many smaller Bluetooth speakers through the years and I have to say that this one so far is my favorite. The speaker is rated at 60 watts and so far I am impressed with the sound quality, bass and loudness that can be achieved while playing music. Now it is not exactly pocket sized as it is about 9.5 inches long and 3″ diameter but it is still small enough to take with you and yet large enough to make a difference in the sound and it has a lanyard to carry it. Battery life has been decent and gets me through my day no problem and what I really like is that it comes with an IPX8 waterproof rating which really makes it waterproof although I have not tested out that feature. It has a usb c port and comes with a charging cable. Bluetooth range claims 33 ft and I would say that is pretty accurate. I have also used the mic feature for phone calls and that has been loud and clear. I really like this speaker and would recommend it.

Value for money
I couldn’t be happier with this speaker. From the moment I unboxed it, the build quality impressed me — the finish feels durable, the controls are intuitive, and the waterproofing gives serious outdoor peace of mind. Pairing was effortless via Bluetooth 5.4 and held strong even across rooms and decks (no drop-outs).Sound is simply fantastic: the bass hits harder than I expected for its size, mids are clear and vocal-rich, and at higher volumes the clarity holds up beautifully with minimal distortion. The 60 W output lives up to its billing — it effortlessly fills a patio gathering or beach side hang-out, yet still sounds great for casual indoor listening.Battery life is as good as advertised: I used it for a long afternoon outdoors, set it down with friends chatting around, and it kept going strong without needing a recharge. The built-in mic makes hands-free calls surprisingly workable too, and dual-pairing with another unit for stereo really opens up the sound-field.For the price point, I honestly feel this speaker punches above its class. If you’re looking for a rugged, high-quality outdoor/indoor Bluetooth speaker that sounds as good as it looks, this is a winner. Highly recommended.
