Best Z-Wave Devices
I am an admitted fan of Leviton products. I have many items of their smart switches/dimmers, etc. using Wi-Fi or Z-Wave. This purchase was for a home where the Z-Wave devices will be controlled and integrated in a larger system along with locks, thermostat, garage doors, etc. but it does not support Wi-Fi devices so Z-Wave was the right technology for this system. They are easy to install and use and operate reliably.

Most capable smart on/off switch
Great smart switch that can actually handle an electrical load. It’s amazing how few smart switches are rated for a fan or anything more than some LED lights. This makes this switch stand out. Very easy to install and connect to the z-wave network on homeassistant. I have it connected to the whole house fan and can set up automations based on inside/outside temperatures and air quality and if the windows are open, or just run on a schedule. Of note, this does act as a z-wave repeater. It also has a good click feel. Super happy with this switch.

Very effective in a Z-wave network with color and style that matches normal switches.
This switch blends right in to the simple switches next to it in color and style. It was easy to pair in my z-wave network and responds to the network very reliably.

LEVITON ZW15S switch works with WINK hub. Too bad the WINK app can not read the QRC on LEVITON box.
The WINK app does not read QRC codes, only older 2D barcodes. I called LEVITON on the phone and they told me that DZ15S does work with WINK, and that I would have to install the switch by selecting menu options.I selected: Add to Wink; Lighting; Switches; In – Wall Switch – Decora Smart. I followed the steps and it works!I just now ordered four more switches from Amazon.

Good, not great, paddle switch
Worked as advertised, although the switch paddles seem a bit flimsy. Sometimes you have to push a paddle a few times to turn the light on and off.

Only Z-Wave switch rated for 15 Amp outlets
This is the only Z-Wave switch rated to control standard 15A outlets. There are also no Z-Wave controlled outlets that have a load output that can control other outlets.I used this to replace a UPB-controlled outlet that did have a load output. It fed 4 normal duplex outlets in a 1/2 switched configuration.

Glitchy
Doesn’t properly communicate with the SmartThings hub. Says it is on, but it’s off. When this happens, I can’t do voice commands till I tell Alexa to turn it off, though it’s already physically off. Won’t turn on to the settings I save also.

Easy to setup, works as intended. Installed on front porch light and made it “Smart” and hooked up with camera sensor. Now my porch light acts as motion sensing light.

If you want a z-wave fan controller that has multiple speeds, it’s pretty much this one or bust.Installed easily enough but it was kind of annoying to pair to smart things. I couldn’t get the secure join with the QR code to work and had to move my SmartThings hub into the same room as the switch.
