malfunctioning hush button and alarm sensor… no battery to pull
This failed after 5 months and started going off with the “smoke” indicator (3 beeps). Absolutely no reason for it. When trying to “hush” it using the big button, it just started going off again immediately. There may have been debris or moisture near the sensors that I could have blown out (I have a whole house exhaust fan we use a lot), but that wouldn’t explain the hush button doing absolutely nothing to silence the alarm.Since I was on my way out of the house and did not have time to mess with it, and my dog was freaking out, the only way I could ensure it wouldn’t go off while I was gone was to go through the “discharge and trash” process which renders it permanently useless. I didn’t want to come home to a urine soaked house because the fire alarm had been blaring for 5 hours.This was not a problem I considered when getting the “10 year” non removable/replaceable battery version of the fire alarm. I didn’t have a chance to potentially repair it. I’ll likely be getting the same or similar model, but with removable battery, if I can find it.
