    We LOVE this roomba!
We literally LOVE thing thing. We named her Cinderella. She is a vacuum/mopping queen. This thing is so nice to have. When you first turn it on, it goes through and maps your house. Then you can set it to vacuum and mop at the same time. Or you can do just vacuum, just mop, or vacuum them mop. It cleans my floors so good. We have dogs and the dog hair drives me nuts. So I like that I can turn this thing on and let it go. The only thing you have to do with it is fill up the water and empty the dirty water. Otherwise it does everything else on its own. It empties the dirty water, fills up with clean water, and empties out the dirt from the vacuum. It even cleans and dries the mop pads itself. You can’t wash them. On the app you can choose which rooms you want it to clean and how you want it to clean. Light, normal, or heavy. The rooms in your house show up white, and if they are yellow it is suggesting that the room may need to be cleaned. The app will also tell you the vacuum/mops diagnostics. If there’s something stuck in the vacuum, how many mops your pads have left before they need to be replaced, how full your dirt bag is. I’m extremely impressed with how great this little thing cleans and how smart it is. If you have kids or dogs this honestly is a game changer. You can turn it on and let it go. It nice to get your floors clean while you can do something else. It is a little loud when it’s cleaning itself out. But it’s not really any louder than an actual vacuum. We got this baby half off during prime days, so I would have to say for the price we paid we are super happy with our purchase. It’s totally worth the money. It has a little spinner thing on it that gets into a the corners and kicks the dirt/dust in front of it. I’m very impressed with how great of a job it does. I do suggest using the vacuum first then mop option if you have dogs because doing the vacuum/mop at the same time wasn’t working very good. The dog hair would get stuck in the water and stick to the floor. Other than that I highly recommend this thing. Take a few things off your plate.

    Smart, easy, efficient.
I was anxious when unboxing the Roomba 405 and when I noticed that there was instruction manual other than the basic instructions on a box flap. Little did I know instructions aren’t needed as the Roomba sets itself up through the app. It mapped my home within minutes without having to investigate the entire perimeter. The first cycle was a “standard“ vac and mop. The Roomba performed well, especially the vacuum, which did a thorough job vacuuming the cat hair, scattered litter, sand, and dust created by the resident felines. Them mopped did a good job although I did notice that some residue from the tougher spots remained after the cycle. Next, I’ll try those deep clean option to see how it does. Other than that, the Roomba is very easy to use – you tell it what to do and it does it, including returning to the base to charge if needed and to empty the dirty mop water. It even cleans and dries them mop pads after use. I definitely recommend for maintaining a generally clean home and look forward to learning what else it can do.

    I guess I still have a job…
I can say I’ve waited yyyeaarrss, for this device. I was initially skeptical about it but the price was mostly kept me away when this device was introduced in the early 00’s; so i waited. years would pass and this device just kept getting more updates more refreshes and just continued to succeed in both presence, popularity and review. I finally decided “F it” I’ll pull the trigger spend the thousand dollars and get one, the spouse won’t complain when the carpet is constantly clean and no one knows how it got done. Background, the roomba is assigned to one room where it has a clear 8 foot “L” (four feet one side, four feet another) to clean, the room has a really shaggy carpet and a furry Aussie shepherd inhabits the room.I get the roomba, unpack it; placing the dock in a neutral area and docking the Roomba to charge; meanwhile I download the app. I immediately go through the app to set it up, downloading the OTA update, and installing it; meanwhile clearing the floor of all clutter and debris. The room is now clear and ready, the device is setup and charged, and we are ready to go.I hit the big clean button on the app and get a pleasant 5 beat chime and off it goes, down the base and onto the carpet, first thing I notice is it is suuppper quiet, wow this is going to be great, i wait, acting as if i don’t notice it but really super eager to see the amazing job it’s done and how easily I can argue the thousand dollars is spent…. wait, I look down, the device has a big red circle around it; I rush down to take a look, and lift it up, “Clear the brushes and hit clean to continue”.. I look at the silicone brushes and, nothing. I put it down and hit clean, it starts again, I jump back on my bed.. is going to be well worth it, I mean the regular vacuum is super archaic and the fact we can just set it and forget it is a …. I look down and the device has a red ring on it, I lift it up “Clear the brushes and hit clean to continue”.. I look at the silicone brushes and the three pointed main brush, nothing, I open the debris canister and it it has barley anything in it, I put it down and hit clean, it starts again revisiting the same spots, great it’s thorough.. red ring, I lift i check nothing, drop hit clean, reaches another spot, red ring… your seeing a pattern right…I finally lift the device and send it home, maybe it’s time for another… what sounds like a jet taking off occurs, the device when it docks is immediate vacuumed by the dock, and the vacuum is soooo powerful, there is no way it can be in the same room as ANYONE and be done in the middle of the night, this thing is sooo loud, you can hear it down the hall, a long eight foot soundproofed hall.I begin to look through the app to see if there is anything i can do, and behold i see an ability to train the roomba, so I hit train, I know this’ll do the trick, the roomba will go about learn the terrain the in’s and out, learn where to duck, where to dive, when to turn one wheel, etc… So training it begins, I leave the room, and let it do it’s thing, super excited to see the map it produces the digital way it reads my room, a little patience and it will all be worth it. “The training is complete”, reads on my phone through a notification… I open the app and “5%” reads on the map; huh?, I hit train again, close the app and go back to my dinner “The training is complete”, I open the app and “10%”, wait… is this thing going to make me train it 20 times…. at 10 minutes a piece… SPOILER ALERT: yes, yes it does. I complete the training a few hours later at 100%, and dock it for the night. The next day I come home and see my toddler has made a mess with some goldfish crumbs, my dogs has shed a bit, there is some sand from my boys play date, and overall the carpet could use a nice vacuuming. I make sure the floor is clear the vacuum has a nice clear path the clean. I clear everyone out of the room and close the door, open the app and hit the big “Clean” button (secretly I’m listening to hear the five beat sound that it makes when it first starts”. App tells me cleaning is in progress. I go to have a seat, I sit down … Notification “Your Roomba requires attention”, What?, I go to the room and in the exact same spot it was originally getting stuck in, it got stuck again, I lift the device and set it down, and hit the clean button. It begins, moves a few feet, I watch, and here it comes, another spot where it would get stuck, here is the true test… it get’s stuck, a notification pops up on my phone, “Your Roomba requires attention”. I lift the device check it, and nothing, no hair, no debris, nothing. I set it down, and check the manual, nothing to help. I read there is a way to “Spot clean”, so finally i give up, let’s just focus on this device as a nice way to clean a single specific area, maybe this won’t be the device I can clean the whole room with. I place the device right on top of the goldfish and sand area, and hit the “cross hair” button located to the right of the clean button on the device, and it begins, it moves in a spiral motion, around the mess… only the mess is still there, all the goldfish, all the sand, all the hair… still there. I try it again, only this time I rub the carpet to get it to all come to the top, loosen it up a bit… I hit the cross hair and it begins; the mess is still there. I grab the device, and put it back in it’s box… I give up.I pulled the old vacuum out of the closet and vacuumed the room… I guess I still have a job.

    Great product!
I’ve been really impressed with the Roomba Combo 405 Plus so far. It vacuums and mops in one go, and the dock that cleans and dries the pads is a total time-saver. It maps my home accurately, avoids rugs when mopping, and leaves the floors cleaner. The suction power is strong enough to handle pet hair and gunk on your floors. Setup took a bit of trial and error, and the app can be glitchy at times, but once it’s running, it’s very low-maintenance. It’s not cheap, but the convenience makes up for it. Nearly perfect, just a few small quirks.

I ordered this product (i7+) with the intention of trying it out once or twice and, considering the price tag, likely returning it unless it exceeded expectations. I had a roomba years ago and I was interested in seeing how far things had come.I was not disappointed.I have now owned the product for a couple of weeks and will not be returning it. I have nothing but positive things to say. The battery life is impressive – it has done up to 90 minutes before returning to base to charge. The initial few times of vacuuming our main floor took quite a while as it was still learning the area. Now, if I send it to the Kitchen it can be done in 10-15 minutes. One does not need to look further than inside the brilliantly designed vacuum bag after a few rounds of cleaning to see this product is worth its weight in gold. It pulls up SO much dirt! This brings me to the app, which I use on iOS. I am the kind of person who is highly critical and believes the vast majority of apps available today, especially those relating to “smart XXXXXX”, are utter crap. I was so pleased to see that the iRobot app is not only not utter crap, it is an absolute joy to use. From setting up a schedule, to working with the map – adding dividers, rooms, and ‘no go’ areas, it’s all worked flawlessly and intuitively. We have become so accustomed to needing to try things repeatedly or wait for spinning circles due to connectivity issues etc., well, not with this device. It’s amazing that if you press pause on the app, the vacuum almost instantaneously emits a sound and stops dead in its tracks.I want to provide a fair review, so the only thing I will be critical of is the noise level. Yes, it’s kinda loud, which means we can’t run it in the middle of the night due to having tenants downstairs. The loudest part of the ordeal is when it docks with its home base and empties itself. But honestly, it’s a damn vacuum people, what did you expect? And to be honest, the insanely powerful sounding transfer is kind of exciting because you can hear in the cacophony of it all the crazy amount of dirt it’s just saved you from vacuuming yourself.

I absolutely love my new Roomba! Best floor-cleaning helper ever!I bought this Roomba to help with the chore I like the least – mopping. First, I did a little research, and I decided to spend a little more on this model because I liked the spinning mop pads, figuring they would do a better job scrubbing my floors to my satisfaction. Plus, the auto-washing base is magical and a must-have. It takes care of refreshing the mop pads while it’s cleaning so it’s not continually mopping with gross, dirty pads. And when it’s all done, it will wash and dry them too! No need for me to do it! The base also runs a self-cleaning cycle, that way it doesn’t get musky or mildewy. It’s pretty much a hands-free system. All I do is fill the water tank when needed and empty the dirty when it gets full. Easy-peasy.I can set up a cleaning schedule, but mostly I just start cleaning from the app, or use voice commands. I found everything very easy to set up. It literally mapped my home in minutes and was ready to go!Overall, I’m very impressed with how well it cleans. The vacuum takes care of all those little fluffies and hairs and little bits on the day-to-day. It automatically boosts power on the carpet by my entrance and will lift the pads in the back, so nothing gets wet. The robot will also empty itself into the base for months before I’ll need to worry about removing the bag.The only hiccups I’ve had were when it sucked up my bathmat and got stuck. I got an alert on the app. I know now that it’s too light and I’ll need to put it up from now on. It also got too close to some power cords under my entertainment unit. However, the app lets you create Keep Out zones, so once I placed one over the area I wanted it to stay out, and haven’t had any problems since.Roomba saves me so much time fussing with my floors. It’s only been a short time but I’m very pleased with the performance. When I come home it feels fresh and clean. It’s a relief to not worry about running a vacuum or dragging out the mop because it’s already taken care of.

Firstly, the performance of the 405 is truly impressive. It does a fantastic job of picking up everything on both my floors and carpets. The suction power is noticeably stronger than the j series, which is a big plus. Additionally, the new rotating mopping pads are excellent at tackling stains and leave my floors with a beautiful shine. Navigation is also amazingly great, new lidar is a big change but if you have small objects laying around or a lot of wires around go with the 505 instead. The base of the 405 is another highlight. It not only allows the robot to operate autonomously for days but also self-cleans, eliminating the need for frequent maintenance. This is a significant plus over other brands, where you need to clean the mopping pad system often. However, there is one aspect I’m not entirely sold on – the refresh system for the mopping pads. Since there is no water tank on the actual robot, you have to decide via the app how many square feet the robot will clean before returning to the base to refresh the pads and self-clean. This process takes a bit more time, especially if you have a large area to cover. But I do see the advantage of this system, as it prevents spreading filth around, which can happen with models that have a water tank directly on the robot.Lastly, the app has its pros and cons. While it offers some great features, there is definitely room for improvement. I’m hopeful that we’ll see some updates and enhancements to it in the near future. All in all, for the price, the 405 is a strong 5-star product. It offers great performance, a low noise level compared to the j series and requires minimal maintenance.
