Great Video lights for a great price with great features
I’m a photographer & a Videographer. These are great lights to have for your photo/videography works at your studio. The build quality of the lights is very good & its an Aluminium construction. The light control adjustment knobs are good. There are three adjustments, Brightness, Saturation and Hue. The lights can be changed from cool warm to Daylight and to RGB color. Its also very bright and came well packaged in its own case. No complaints. I previously had the regular Bi-Polar lights returned it for this RGB light. For my Studio work, this has been very useful & versatile as I can switch this from Daylight to Warm and to RGB lights depending on what I intend to shoot. The brightness is very good and the ability to dial in the precise color temperature is perfect for my video & Photography work. The lights are well built with a good carrying case. The Slave features is nice to have as it allows you to wirelessly control multiple lights by only adjusting one (master and slaves). My only complaint is the Barn doors. They could have been better & easier to mount like other competitor lights. Wish the power cable was longer.Overall an excellent light!! I’m really Happy with this purchase as its more versatile lights for work. I highlly recommend this RGB lights.

The perfect set for beginners who want pro quality
GVM has had some great lights, but these are exceptionally amazing. As always, they come with a great case, which is MUCH appreciated vs other budget lights. The color accuracy of these lights is better than ones that cost 10x as much from super premium brands.I measured these lights with my Sekonic C-800 and got the following results. At the Tungsten end I got a 3248K CCT.Brightness – 726 Lux or f/2.5, ISO 100, 1/50 sec (@ 1 meter)CRI/TLCI – 97.5/98TM-30 – Rf:96/Rg:103SSI – 85At the daylight end I got a 5369K CCT.Brightness – 733 Lux or f/2.5, ISO 100, 1/50 sec (@ 1 meter)CRI/TLCI – 96/99TM-30 – Rf:96/Rg:104SSI – 76If you don’t know what these measurements mean, just trust me when I say these lights are exceptionally accurate. The lights are well built, and the RGB mode is very easy to use as well.If you need extra soft light, the external diffusion is a great touch, and the fact that you also get a light stand is a huge bonus.I can’t recommend GVM lights enough if you’re on a budget but want professional color quality.

Great light – Cheap build
Overall these lights were a very quick purchase for a 2 week job. The light, speed and color adjustability is all great and has given us more than we expected for our video production lighting. The quality of the build is a little cheap. We already had a power unit that plugs into the light break, so we had to rig it with duct tape to stay in. The stands are definitely cheap and I can see over excessive will definitely get a lot of wear a tear. Good in a quick situation. Not a long term solution.

I *really* like these lights
My video work goes back to portable hot lights, through several iterations of first FLD soft box fixtures and then replacing the FLD lamps with specialized LED. The pair arrived the day before I was shooting a location shot that I knew and knew it was fairly dark, so brought these along as key and fill and used one of my other fixtures to wash the background. The quality was great and I was really pleased with the result. Ordered a set of non Sony batteries (which have a built in charge meter and – what a concept – can be charged with a USB cable. Used the batteries in one of the fixtures for over 3 hours in a space I’ve been shooting interviews in for years. The light is clean, the batteries were still going – I ordered a second set – and all was great.Plus:- these are amazingly inexpensive for what they do- solidly built fixtures that stay cool even when they have been on for hours- barn doors are useful- nice to be able to control intensity and color quality- coverage is quite satisfactory for interviews and similar uses – no really noticeable falloff- nice case to carry the entire kit, room for batteries and other stuffNegatives (slight)- the slide in diffusers are held in place with a sliding piece of plastic that doesn’t actually lock in place and easily does not stay closed. Since I like the diffusers I’ll probably use a gaff tape fix ;)- the separate diffuser mounts to move from the front of the light, frankly, seem pretty useless compared to the barn doors. Easy solution? Get some diffusion material and trim it. Use clips (clothes pins can work since there’s no danger of overheating) to attach the material to the barn doors. Just like we used to do. ( might dig into my old Lowel kit and see if I fan fit the diffusion holders to work with these. Might.- The stands are nice with their compactness, but you have to be careful sliding the very tight base open. I have some great old Lowel kit stands and don’t mind carrying them if I want something sturdier and a touch taller.Overall these have been a great purchase. With the exception of the diffuser clips, the fit and finish is first rate. Haven’t used the remote control.
