Worked once then never again
Charged the batteries via the USB for the recommended 4 hours. Lights were plugged in and screwed tight with provided connectors. First time use the lights were very dim on a very dark night out in the country. Left them plugged in and on with the solar panel facing the best direction and after 3 days I go to turn the lights on and they didn’t even turn on. I climb up to manually click the button in case it needs to be clicked every time, and they would turn on for less than 5 seconds with or without the remote ONLY after manually clicking the button on the solar panel. After trying to use the remote none of the lights turn on, blue light on the main solar unit acknowledges the remote clicking but nothing happens. Even tried to charge via USB again but same negative results, with the remote and all the lights don’t turn on with a manual click either. Will be returning and finding a separate solution. Very disappointing and frustrating as me and my wife liked the look and (possible) ease of solar.

I really like these lights, I actually see very similar ones being used by other people around the neighborhood and thought they looked beautiful. We’re using it on the backyard in areas that become hard to see during the night, and it gives it a very warm and decorated look. When we first tried it, a couple of bulbs seemed to not turn on (uh,oh!), but they were just a little bit unscrewed. After screwing them in properly, we haven’t run into that issue anymore, so far.It also comes with an extra bulb in case one of them burns out.We don’t really play with the remote too much. You can set the light to be steady, which is what we do, or have it flash/flicker which is not for us. The solar panel is pretty big and seems to get light nicely, it even comes with a light indicator on its back to show you that it’s operating.Overall, a satisfying product.

The Brightown 50’ Solar light String kit arrived in a branded box. On one side of the box, you have contact information, mentioning warranty, a web site, and a US phone number. Inside is the 50’ solar lights with solar panel, remote, two ways of securing the solar panel on the ground or with screws on the wall, a good quantity of zip ties, a spare bulb, and a manual. Unlike security lights, the batteries are inside the solar panel, and I have no idea of the mAh size. This kit is complete, looks well made, and the bulbs are plastic, which is a bonus, not having to worry about them shattering.Installation was fairly easy, though I needed to make sure on pacing them even on both sides of the front porch. I simply clipped them on for now with the clips on the bulb sockets, though I might change that using the round adjacent openings, as I will see how they hold up this winter. They look good, as even my neighbour that gave me a hand, commented the next day on how bright they lit up. Unfortunately, already a bulb is bad and needed replacing, though I wonder where I can find replacement bulbs, if needed. The included remote is easy to use, yet, I like the bright setting, since they are so high up.It has been a few weeks since they been set up, and everything is fine so far into the fall, even through some rain. I think depending on placement, it would be better if the bulbs were closer together, giving it a better lit atmosphere. Of course that would mean more bulbs, with more of a power drain. This Brightown 50’ Solar Light String, is a complete kit, easy to set up, gives a nice ambience, and a handy remote, to change the brightness depending on your needs. Thanks for reading.
