Well worth the money.
WOW! Once again Bose has another winner! Very well made.Although the one thing I have an issue with is the Remote, it seems like I e it’s cheaply made and won’t last long (I could be wrong)

This soundbar is excellent
This soundbar is excellent. I love that it has top-facing speaker grilles, which allow the sound to project upward. Other, more expensive bars often have a glass surface on top, which limits vertical sound projection. With this one, sound flows forward, sideways, upward, and backward—creating a fully immersive experience.I later added the Bose Bass Module 500 via wired connection, and the improvement in low-end response was immediate. However, even without the subwoofer, the soundbar performs very well when watching Dolby Atmos content.Using your TV’s eARC port is key. In my setup, I connected the Apple TV to HDMI 1 and the soundbar to HDMI 2 (eARC) on my 70” LG QNED TV. Proper configuration avoids annoying black screen flickers while the system negotiates the audio format. I recommend disabling Apple TV’s automatic frame rate and dynamic range switching, and on the LG TV, setting the audio output to “passthrough” instead of “auto.”Finally, adding the Bose Surround Speakers 300 (also applies to the 700s) takes the system to a whole new level. In my large, closed room, you can truly feel effects surround you—like a bullet whizzing past your right ear. Just amazing.

Depite the Miserable Setup Experience, it’s a Really Nice Soundba
The enclosed instruction manual is a monstrous 2 pages long — mostly figures telling you to Plug it in and download the Bose App on your Smart Phone. First, I consider myself tech savvy, but was thwarted immediately following setting up both WiFi and Bluetooth. I downloaded the ‘real’ instruction manual and attempted to follow the Troubleshooting advice therein. In short, the setup process totally stalled during the App’s attempt to download the soundbar’s data update. On Day One I gave up after 2 hours and decided to try again the next day.On Day Two, I decided I should slow down and start all over, thinking I missed something on Day One. After another hour, I did what I should have done after wasting only 30 minutes on Day One…I CALLED BOSE.I won’t try to explain the convoluted steps that I was instructed to perform, but they worked. It took the Bose Rep 15 minutes to get the soundbar MOSTLY working. The rep told me that the data download would take 30-40 minutes!!! No where do the instructions tell you this download would take that long, Anyway, that sounded crazy to me, but OK. I thanked him and hung up.After two hours the data download was still ‘downloading.’ Time to call Bose again. A different rep walked me through and EVEN MORE convoluted process required to download the update. Rep #2 was great. He remained on the line during the download, during which he walked me through some detailed nuances of the Bose App in which he fine tuned the device. By the end of our 30 minute conversation, I was totally setup. In the end, I love the quality sound coming from my Smart Soundbar.Good luck and, if at first you don’t succeed (in setting up your Smart Soundbar), STOP and call Bose for help.

APP CONNECTION ISSUES
Product initially was easy to set up, but then they require you to download an app and make an account that doesn’t even register with your email so if you accidentally log out of your account or turn your Wi-Fi off for any reason, the sound bar will not connect to the app and will never be able to connect again!

You can’t go wrong
Really great sound. I compared it against 3 other soundbars and it excelled above 2 of them. Easy set up. Had issues with it randomly disconnecting from Air Play. And it struggled to reconnect to the TV after using Air Play. If not for connectivity I would have kept it. Ended up with a Sennheiser.

Great product but why am I unhappy?
The smart sound bar came late. Most likely because it was shipped by USPS and a holiday added a day or two. I tried working with the device with Bluetooth. I could not get it to work. I tried for quite a while and then looked at the box that the device came in. It was shipped from the Returns and Replacements Department of Bose. I then considered that the remote control might have a bad battery – bingo it was almost entirely discharged – but why if this was a new unit? After all I could have ordered a returned unit and save about $150, but I opted for a brand-new unit.I suspect that a reverse logistics played a role in my getting a device that looked new but wasn’t.So, I have working unit, and it sounds great, but I suspect that it was not new. If that is true, then I lost $150. If it actually was new, then my apologies. If Amazon or Bose could simply tell me then all is good. And maybe make it right? I am not saying that anybody intentionally did this.UPDATE: I contacted customer support and and satusfird.

Buying Bose speaker online was a risk but it was worth it. The delivery was efficient and the product has just changes the sound of the tv audio to make it sound so much better and of crisp quality. It just elevated the whole viewing experience.
