Great for what I needed.
I read prior reviews, and was worried it would be difficult and frustrating to put together. But, I found the shelf units were easy to put together. The instructions tell you to mark the level where you will apply the clips, but I found that step was not really necessary. Just be sure you get the clips at the same level on all 4 legs. I put it together all by myself, without issues. I did use my rubber mallet to assist with putting it together but be careful. I did manage to slightly bend one of the rails. Note: there is an indentation on the legs of the shelf and the clips have a corresponding ridge…after the first 4 clips and “struggling” to line them up with the unnecessary marks, I figured out the ridge fits into the groove and the clips are easy to install with that knowledge. There is a mark on the clips that notes the “top”, it is a little hard to see in dim light, so just be careful the clips are aligned to the top as indicated. The shelf fit in the space I needed exactly perfect. They (I bought 2) might be 1/4″ or so smaller than the length/width listed, but that actually worked to my advantage. On the shelves, I was able to fit plastic shoe boxes 2 across, or plastic pencil boxes 3 across. On one of the shelves, I have a file box, filled with hanging files that are filled as well. It is a bit larger than the shelf front to back, but so far, there are no issues with the weight of the box. It all feels stable. If in the future I need another utility shelf like this, I would absolutely purchase again. I felt the value was good for the price paid. But I noticed there was a price drop the next day, so that made me sad. I could have saved $10 on the purchase of the 2 I bought.

The size was exactly what I ordered. The shelves are stable. It was easy to put together.The reason for the 4 star rating is because the directions don’t have enough information. Before I started, I viewed a couple of online mzg shelf assemblies which helped me figure out what to do.Tips: 1) The shelves are packaged, so they don’t shift around in the box. There are a lot of black plastic parts to keep things stable. There was no mention of those not being parts of the shelving. After I identified the right parts, I finally realized why all those other plastic pieces were there. 2) The poles we’re in three color coded plastic bags. It would have helped me identify where to place them had there been a little bit more description about the poles and which ones we’re in each bag. 3) The plastic bags were hard to open. Another tool to list would have been a pair of scissors to cut the plastic. 4) I did not have a mallet. Instead used a block of wood over cloth and hit it with a hammer. It worked well. 5) The poles have the same markings. I could not write on them with a pen as suggested. Instead using a tip from one of the videos, I used the double circles to find the position. For example, a spot I wanted on each pole could be a single circle, two down from a a double circle above it since the markings were evenly matched on the poles.

This shelving unit was perfect for my requirements. I was a bit concerned that it would be flimsy, but, once it was built, it is very sturdy.Really easy to assemble. I would buy again if I needed more shelving.

I searched for strong wire shelves and these came up, they are so flimsy. The pole are so narrow, plus … The plastic support things that hold the shelf are too small for the actual pole, so they end up moving meaning it’s a hassle to make plus shelves are not dead straight.I know it’s badly made because this is not the first wire shelf I bought. I was buying in a hurry and should have checked to see if the ones I got before were still available, it’s because I have good shelves that were quite affordable that I know how badly made these are.
